Meet Kat Scaglione

Kat is a licensed NYC Tour Guide, certified Guides Assoc. of NYC guide, and founder of I’m Walkin’ Here Tours. After 14 years of calling the city home, she still wakes up grateful to be surrounded by its history, culture, and endless food scene.

Before becoming a full-time guide, Kat worked as an art and creative director in MadMen-style advertising agencies, where she honed her skills in storytelling and crafting memorable experiences. Now she brings that same creative spark to every tour she leads.

Kat’s New York roots run deep: her Irish immigrant ancestors came through Ellis Island, and her grandfather worked as a shoe salesman in Herald Square. Today, she’s married into an Italian immigrant family whose own arrival story also began on Ellis Island, deepening her connection to the city’s immigrant heritage and fueling a real passion for Italian-American food and culture.

Whether she’s sharing hidden history, guiding you to a legendary bakery, or bringing neighborhood stories to life, these tours are all about celebrating NYC, and helping you fall in love with it too.
